Seven Bridges Road (written by Steve Young)
Originally written by Steve Young and made famous by the Eagles’ soaring 1980 arrangement, “Seven Bridges Road” has long been celebrated for its rich harmonies and timeless sense of American folk-road mystique. Its layered vocals and open-sky imagery have made it a favorite among harmony-driven singers for decades—a song that feels as good to sing as it does to hear.
For The Forty-First, this tune began as a fun warm-up at rehearsals, something they’d sing just because it made them smile. They fell in love with the tight harmonies, the camaraderie it sparked, and the way it seemed to click so naturally with their voices. Before long it became something they knew they wanted to capture and share. Dennis steps out to sing the bridge section, while Herb's uke bass and Steve’s banjo bring an earthy, rootsy pulse that gives The Forty-First version its own character.
Seven “Britches” Road is a joyful detour as they continue working hard on their next release (ETA end of 2025,) and they hope it brings you a few minutes of harmony-soaked fun in the meantime. Thanks for listening, singing along, and taking this musical ride with The Forty-First.
